WHY DO WE USE RUNNING TO INSPIRE GROWTH?

One of the very few things left in life that can only be earned, not given, is that feeling of crossing a finish line. Training for a half marathon is no easy task. It takes committment, resilience, setting goals, and a never give up attitude. Running shows us in the moment that with each step we take we are closer to our goal and that is something these exceptional athletes learn and earn throguh this process. It's through these experiences and opportunities that these exceptional athletes are faced with a choice to push forward when things get tough. Our team and our volunteers support them physically, mentally, and emotionally, but at the end of the day the choice is theirs. Giving them that power of choice, gives them independence, self confidence, and so many more traits that prepare them for life beyond our programs!

THIS PROGRAM ISN'T JUST BASED ON RUNNING.
IT'S COMMITTED TO GROWTH & SELF DISCOVERY.

  • We choose 4-5 exceptional adventure athletes each year to train for a 1/2 marathon.
  • The athlete DOES NOT have to have experience running long distance, but they do need to enjoy running to apply. We will successfuly train each athlete to cros the finish line.
  • The training in this program is progressive. The athlete will train for 4-5 months to prepare for a 1/2 marathon:
    • 12-16 runing workshops to teach pacing, reading their watch, run form, and more.
    • 1:1 training sessions once a week with a certified coach.
    • Progress from 2 at home runing sessions a week to 4 a week.
    • Goal setting and goal boards to teach independence and the power of positive habits.
