Please consider sponsoring an exceptional adventure athlete. The process we have built is life changing for them, their parents, our volunteers, you, and most importantly, the future of all individuals with exceptionalities.

With your help we will continue to expand our programs allowing us to help so many more individuals with intellectual and developmental exceptionalities (disabilities). Our programs instill life skills, confidence and traits to excel in a job setting. We then work with our job opportunity partners to start chipping away at the 80% unemployment rate for these individuals. Together we are giving them purpose and the opportunity to continue growing beyond our program.

Donations

A cash donation includes money contributed by check, credit card, electronic funds transfer, or payroll deduction. The donation cannot exceed 60% of your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) in order to qualify as a tax deduction. The IRS requires you to keep a record of any cash contribution, such as a canceled check, bank statement, credit card statement, or written statement from the charity showing the date of the contribution, the amount of the contribution, and the name of the charitable organization.

For appreciated assets your deduction should not exceed 30% of your adjusted gross income. If your contributions exceed your limits, you may carry over the charitable deductions for a period of up to five years.

Your donation may be eligible for a Florida State Tax Credit
What that means is that a taxpayer who makes a monetary contribution of $250 or more to the AFA is entitled to a Florida Income Tax credit of 25% of the value of the contribution up to a maximum credit of $100,000 per year.

UPDATE: The CARES Act: Two New Federal Tax Benefits to Donors

Universal Deduction for Donations Up to $300
For individuals who no longer itemize their charitable giving, the CARES Act will allow these individual taxpayers to deduct donations to charity of up to $300 on their 2021 federal tax return, even though they take the standard deduction. Married-filing-jointly taxpayers will get an above-the-line deduction of up to $600.

Raising the Charitable Giving Deduction Cap
For those donors who are still able to itemize their deductions, and therefore directly write off gifts to charity, The CARES Act lifts the deduction caps to 100% of adjusted gross income for individuals and joint filers, while corporations will see their cap lifted to 25% for 2021.

*With your donation you will cover all the expenses for an adventure athlete.
